Regular Slotted Carton -RSC

A standard shipping box is a type of carton box where the flaps fold down and meet in the middle. In order to seal the carton, tape or glue must be used. These boxes are commonly used for shipping and transporting various products and goods.

The Regular Slotted Carton (RSC) box is the most commonly used box style for shipping and storage. The two outer flaps of an RSC box meet at the center of the box when folded and are usually closed using tape or staples. Corrugated pads can be placed between the inside flaps for additional protection over the top or bottom of the product.

The RSC box is versatile and can be used for most products, making it the most popular box style. If the product requires a flat, even bottom surface, or the protection of two full layers, a fill-in pad can be placed between the two inner flaps.

Overlap Slotted Carton -OSC

Standard shipping carton where all flaps have the same length and the outer flaps overlap by one inch or more.

Same as RSC box, but without one side of flaps.

Full Overlap Container -FOL

Standard shipping carton where the top and bottom flaps overlap each other. It offers more strength for heavy objects and provides more rigidity to minimize flex.

This box style is called an overlap slotted carton (OSC). It features flaps of the same length, and the outer flaps overlap by at least one inch. The box can be sealed quickly using adhesives or staples driven through the overlap area. This box style is commonly used when the length of the box is significantly longer than the width, creating a long gap between the inner flaps. The overlap helps to prevent the outer flaps from pulling apart and provides additional strength to the box.

Half Slotted Carton -HSC

Standard shipping box with no flaps (open) on top. Bottom flaps must be sealed with tape. Sometimes people will call it a cardboard tray.
